Environment for the Americas (EFTA) and Birdability, in partnership with the National Park Service (NPS) seeks to engage ethnically and racially diverse young professionals in natural resource careers. For this position, we also seek participants who have experience as visually, hearing, or mobility challenged or neurodivergence. You must be (additional requirement):
- a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

Position Description
As a Birdability Intern, you will play a vital role in the development and implementation of this groundbreaking program. Here's what you'll be involved in:
- Reviewing park facilities and programming to assess accessible programming opportunities.
- Developing activities specific to various accessibility challenges, examining at least 4 challenges at the park site.
- Piloting birding activities in the parks and making changes based on the results.
- Coordinating and hosting an accessibility-focused World Migratory Bird Day event at paired NPS sites as a culminating activity at the park site.
- Creating online resources to share with other parks interested in implementing similar opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Passion for wildlife conservation and accessibility/ inclusion.
- Strong commitment to communication and learning.
- Prior experience in training on or addressing accessibility challenges is a plus.
- Knowledge of or interest in birds/birding and use of binoculars is desirable,
Requirements:

be between the ages of 18 - 30 years or up to 35 years if a veteran.

College affiliation is not required.
- Hybrid work model: Candidates should be able to join us on-site for up to 3 times/month
- Required to work between 10 and 30 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate school schedules.
